Family based have started an off the grid tiny home community in Bridesville, BC. The lot is located 20 minutes east of Osoyoos, BC, 40 minutes from Mt. Baldy Ski Resort, 50 minutes from Oliver in the heart of BC wine country,1.5 hours from Penticton and 5 hours from Vancouver.
The community is on a 2.5 acre lot with 6 gravel pads measuring approx. 12’x30′. The land surrounding each pad has potential to be developed into a small garden or outdoor living space.
The community is situated in an absolutely beautiful location, surrounded by farm land and beautiful views with the addition of peace and tranquility.
This is an OFF-GRID community, where each community member is responsible for generating their own electricity. Water is supplied via well with a pump to fill tiny house water holding tanks. Composting or incinerating toilets are the only option for this area, as ground water is the main source of water and the grey water system will not be able to handle black waste; this results in significant water saving’s and minimizes each community member’s impact. A community composting area will also be established and cooperatively maintained. Garbage and recycling curb side collection services are provided by the municipality. Although Wheatgrass is ‘Off-Grid,’ there is optional wireless internet available through a third party company.
